Just a few links to share this week as I get my head around all the “best of 2018” lists flying around…and start putting together my own. Maybe in a few weeks I’ll dedicate a Friday link share to all those best-of lists (or at least my favorites).

For now:

Starz Acquires Crime Drama ‘Dublin Murders’ – Deadline
Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad series (the first two books, anyway) are being adapted for screen. Anyone else getting tired of all these great adaptations being scattered across different paid services, though?

Judging books by their covers: Five publishing design cliches – BBC
I guess things are a cliche for a reason. Some of these just look like they pulled from a template and called it a day.

Drama Llama: 21 of the Absolute Best Books About Llamas – BookRiot
This either proves that we’ve already plumbed the depths of all of the book list topics available, or that the possibilities are endless. I can’t quite decide.

20 Cheesy But Hilarious Literature Jokes – We Are Teachers
These are so bad, but I’m feeling a little punchy.

I’m thinking it might be our weekend to seek out Santa. Last year, a quick Libby checkout on my phone and read-aloud of Sideways Stories from Wayside School saved us when the kids got antsy in a long line. This year, I’ll be prepared with plenty of options.

What are you reading this weekend?
